Anly ("Anly," "we," "us," or "our") is built to help you stay close to the people who matter — friends and family, no matter the distance. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Anly app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Anly, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
We only collect what Anly actually needs to work. Specifically:
Account information. To create an account, you provide an email address or phone number and a password, or you sign in with Apple or Google. If you use Apple or Google sign-in, we receive the identifier, name, and email address those services choose to share with us — we never see your Apple or Google password.
Profile information. Your display name, handle, a short bio if you choose to write one, and an avatar color you select. Anly does not currently support uploading a profile photo.
Your connections. The friends you add, your Carer connections (who you're a Carer for and who cares for you), and any invitations or notifications tied to those connections. Anly does not have a public directory — you can only connect with someone by entering their exact email or phone number, or by scanning their QR code in person. We don't let people browse or search for strangers.
Content you create. Messages, and "photo" cards (an emoji and caption you choose) you post in a Room. Anly does not currently access your photo library or camera roll — the only camera access is for scanning a QR code to add a friend, which happens live and isn't stored.
Activity data. When you check in, and your check-in streak.
Device information. A push notification token and, if you use Live Activities, a Live Activity token, so we can deliver notifications to your device. We do not collect precise location data.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate Anly's core features: your Carers, Rooms, check-ins, and notifications
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure
- To send push notifications you'd expect from the app (a check-in reminder, a new message, a friend request)
- To respond to you when you contact us for support
- To fix bugs and improve the app
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics services in Anly. Your information is shared only in these ways:
- With people you connect with. Your profile, check-in status, and Room content are visible to the friends and Carers you've connected with — that's the point of the app.
- With Apple and Google, solely to verify your identity if you use Sign in with Apple or Google.
- If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Anly, our users, or the public.
Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at kuodemi@anly.app and we will delete it within 30 days of verifying your request. (We're actively working on an in-app account deletion option; until it ships, this is how to reach us.)
Your Choices
- You can edit your profile, avatar color, and bio at any time within the app.
- You can turn off push notifications at any time in your device's Settings.
- You can request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your data by contacting us at kuodemi@anly.app.
Children's Privacy
Anly is not directed to children, and you must be at least 13 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we've collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 is using Anly, please contact us at kuodemi@anly.app.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit and never storing your password in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you're a California resident, you have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to request access to, deletion of, or information about the personal information we've collected about you, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
